Senior Surgical Nurse

Work Shift: Evening

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Surgical Nurse to assess, coordinate, and manage the needs of surgical patients throughout their care. This role involves advocating for patients during surgical procedures and ensuring the delivery of compassionate and competent care by the caregiving team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical nursing and possess the necessary certifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders and administer medications
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care
• Provide guidance to ancillary personnel and maintain professional nursing standards
• Act as a patient advocate in the surgical setting

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a professional nursing program
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), CNOR preferred
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in the surgical setting
• Knowledge of quality concepts and patient care improvement
