The Senior Surgical Nurse plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care for patients and their families. Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments and procedures, and documenting patient care. Additionally, the role involves assessing patient needs, collaborating with the nursing team to create care plans, and providing primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. The Senior Surgical Nurse also directs ancillary personnel and upholds professional nursing standards.
