Senior Emergency Department Nurse

The Senior Emergency Department Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge. They are responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team and ensure that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers in various care settings. In addition to providing primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, the Senior Nurse collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients and maintains professional nursing standards. This role requires a graduate of a professional academic nursing program, a current NYS Registered Nurse license, certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC, and a minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department. The Senior Nurse must also possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, and demonstrate the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
