Senior Critical Care Nurse

Join our dynamic team in the Critical Care Float Pool at Albany Medical Center! We are seeking a Senior Critical Care Nurse to work 36 hours per week during night shifts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain and practice critical care skills in various areas, including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and the MSICU. The hourly range for this position is $36.73 - $60.93.

As a Senior Critical Care Nurse, you will also have the opportunity to acquire additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas. You will work in all the critical care areas at the region's only Level I trauma center. Job Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
• Possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques
