As a PET/CT Imaging Technologist, you will play a vital role in patient care by utilizing your exceptional communication skills to connect with patients. You will explain procedures clearly and ensure they feel comfortable and at ease throughout the process. Your attention to detail and technical proficiency will enable you to interpret physician orders accurately and select the right imaging parameters and software to deliver high-quality PET/CT images that aid in precise diagnosis and treatment.
In our dynamic environments—which may include an outpatient center, mobile unit, or hospital—you will have the flexibility to deliver exceptional care wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient safety by conducting pre-screening for contraindications, following aseptic injection techniques, and adhering to radiation safety regulations.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images that meet the highest standards.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and radiologists to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Train and mentor new technologists and/or patient care staff.
- Troubleshoot and maintain the scanner and related equipment including monitors and PACS systems.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) is mandatory.
- State license required where applicable.
- CPR certification is required.
- Possession of a valid state driver's license is required as applicable.
- 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures is desirable.
- Ability to work at various locations is essential.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Capability to multitask efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications is needed.
- Local travel may be a component of the job.
- The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
- All candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
The position involves potential exposure to outside weather when transporting patients on a mobile unit and to radioactive isotopes during procedures.
More than 50% of the tasks include:
- Sitting, standing, and walking.
- Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
- Ability to see, speak, and hear for effective patient communication.
Less than 50% of the tasks include:
- Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Climb and maintain balance.
- Lift and carry non-ambulatory patients for transfers and examinations.
The final compensation will be influenced by various factors including experience, education, and business needs.
The pay range for this position is $55.34 - $71.95 per hour based on relevant experience.
