The Nurse Manager Neonatal NICU will work at a state-of-the art academic medical center located toward the coast of New Jersey. Reporting to the Director of Women and Children Services, the Nurse Manager Neonatal NICU will be accountable for the Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, including oversight of the busy 30+ bed unit and a team of registered nurses, supervisors, nurse educators, neonatal specialists, technicians, and ancillary staff.
The Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is fully equipped, and designed to provide specialized care for critically ill newborns that may require ECMO or HFOV. With a close-knit team NICU team, the department has neonatologists, specialized nurses, and several other clinical and ancillary staff support available 24/7. The Women's and Children's department is designed to provide a welcoming, family-centered environment throughout a patients stay. The department also offers several ongoing educational programming for parents and advanced technology that allows parents to monitor their newborns when they are unable to be bedside.
In addition to overseeing a team of assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, registered staff nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff, the Nurse Manager Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU will manage department operational workflow, monitor the department budget, department staffing (screening, interviewing, hiring, and scheduling), preparing accreditation and survey material, ensuring state and federal regulatory compliance, updating policy procedures, partner with the Nurse Educator to develop the educational curriculum, and cross collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
The Nurse Manager Neonatal NICU will have prior leadership experience with a clinical background working in a Level 3 or Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This hospital is very open to interviewing local and relocation candidates.
