The Nurse Manager Critical Care will work for a hospital that is known for the critical care departments, including their Medical Intensive Care Unit MICU, Surgical Intensive Care Unit SICU, Surgical Progressive Care Unit SICU, and Cardiac and Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care Units. Additionally, this hospital offers a state-of-the-art Pediatric ICU PICU and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit NICU.

Reporting to the Service Line Vice President, the Nurse Manager Critical Care will primarily oversee all operations of the 20+ bed Medical Intensive Care Unit MICU with over 55 FTEs including a Nurse Educator, Assistant Nurse Managers, specialized and cross trained critical care Registered Nurses, medical assistants, technicians, and ancillary staff. Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager Critical Care include overseeing operational, cross collaborating with other department Nurse Managers, developing quality performance improvement initiatives, and managing operational and fiscal budgets. Additionally, the Nurse Manager Critical Care will be up to date on best practices so they're able to lead by example and closely work with the nurse educator to develop educational curriculum and update processes, policy and procedures to meet the unit's needs.  

Ideally the Nurse Manager Critical Care will have prior management experience overseeing critical care unit, along with a recent ICU clinical background, ideally with familiarity working with a MICU patient population. The Nurse Manager Critical Care should also hold their BSN and active RN license (either currently hold New York RN license or willing to obtain before determined start date).
