Clinical Nurse II - Post Cardiothoracic Surgery

Department/Unit: Post Cardiothoracic Surgery - C8

Work Shift: Night

An exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team providing top-quality care to patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery. This specialty unit requires attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced RNs looking to expand their skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, and perform treatments and procedures
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain professional nursing standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
• Knowledge of quality concepts and principles, and ability to apply them in patient care quality improvement
