Reporting to the Administrative Oncology Service Line Director, the Chief Radiation Oncology Therapist will lead a team of Radiation Therapists, Radiation Therapy Technologists (ARRT), and ancillary staff with both administrative and clinical responsibility within the department. The Chief Radiation Therapist supervises, coordinates, and participates in activities involved with administration of radiation therapy to patients, maintains records, updates policy procedures, ensures hospital, state, and federal regulatory compliance, monitors budgets and supply ordering, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across the organization. The Chief Radiation Oncology Therapist is responsible for the department staffing, including hiring, schedules, evaluations, education, and disciplinary action as needed.
The Chief Radiation Oncology Therapist will have graduated from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program, hold (or eligible to obtain) their certification to practice Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT, and have previous experience working as a Radiation Therapist; ideally with lead, supervisory, or preceptor responsibilities.
