This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Apply principles of human capabilities and constraints (e.g., physiology, cognition, perception, ergonomics, anthropometry) and knowledge of the users and their environments to assist in the development, test and evaluation of safe and effective user interfaces.
Utilize human engineering tools and methods (e.g., task and workload analysis, digital human modeling, simulation and prototyping, usability evaluation, statistical and human error analysis) to assist in the development, test and evaluation of safe and effective user interfaces and products.
Apply knowledge of the human engineering design process, its elements, and its relationship to the product lifecycle to effectively analyze product design.
Assist in rapid prototyping of user interfaces & experiences (e.g. wireframes, mockups, and designs).
Assist in evaluations of stakeholder and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility with physical, functional and program interfaces.
Assist with analyses for system safety, reliability, and other specialty engineering functions to ensure mission success.
Assist in identification of human engineering design issues and develops solutions as a user advocate to ensure human engineering requirements are met by the design.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, or a related discipline
Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Factors or Psychology with emphasis on Systems Engineering, Safety or Aviation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with human-machine interface design.
Experience decomposing and applying Human Engineering requirements.
Experience applying User Centered Design principles to software.
Experience with human modeling tools (e.g., Micro Saint Sharp, IMPRINT, IPME), computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA).
Experience manipulating systems models in systems engineering tools (Rhapsody, Cameo)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
